Theresa Clark
Class of 1956 - Inducted in 1991
|
Theresa was inducted into the SHSAA Hall of Fame in 1991.
Miss Clark is a retired educator with the Omaha Public Schools. She has served as a Principal at Rosewater, Webster, Corrigan, Robbins and Benson West. The list of honors which Miss Clark has received include the B'nai B'rith Citizenship Award, the UNO Order of Tower, the Diana Award and the prestigious School Bell Award. She is a past president of the Omaha Education Association and serves on the OEA Foundation Board of Directors. Her achievements are manifold, but I believe that you might be interested in what she does in her retirement years. Daily Miss Clark travels to a storefront at 24th and Farnam. There she opens a used clothing store called the OEA Store. Can you call that an achievement? You can and you will when you realize that this unassuming little store has, over the years, provided extra income for retired teachers, some of whom realize less than one-hundred dollars a month in pension benefits. It has also raised some of the thousands of dollars the OEA Foundation awards annually to scores of Omaha Students. |
